The gold award for young talent went to historians Philipp Krauer and Bernhard C. Schär (University of Lausanne), silver to political scientist Tabea Palmtag (University of Zurich) and bronze to jurist Christapor Yacoubian (University of Basel).

Philipp Krauer and Bernhard C. Schär are researching Swiss mercenaries serving in the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army; Tabea Palmtag is investigating the relationship between economic revival and individual prosperity; and Christapor Yacoubian is investigating whether Swiss liability law is adequate for the digital revolution.

Each year, the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW) makes its Early Career Award to three outstanding scientific articles by young researchers. The ten-person jury selects the award recipients in a three-stage evaluation process. The winners share a total of 18,000 Swiss francs. This year 151 applications from 25 disciplines were submitted.
