We have 63 member societies. They represent the full range of the humanities and social sciences and form a unique network of expertise. We are committed to diversity in knowledge cultures and promote cooperation between research and real-world application.
We fund research infrastructure as a way of securing knowledge for the present and the future. We subside our members’ activities. And we help develop scientific careers through our Early Career Award and by contributing to travel costs.
We are the public advocate as well as the umbrella organisation of the humanities and social sciences. We facilitate interdisciplinary exchange and promote dialogue between academia, the political sphere and society.
