Almanach No. 4

Almanach brings together a selection of texts produced through our journalistic writing mentorship programme, which supports researchers in sharing their research with a wider audience.

This fourth issue explores the connections between art, historiography and resistance in societies across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The contributions examine how historical narratives, artistic practices and forms of resistance shape representations of societies and territories, highlighting the complexity of interactions between these regions. The editorial also reflects on the notion of «civilisation» and its political implications in contemporary discourses on Palestine. The cover features a work by Danish-Palestinian artist Larissa Sansour, taken from her film In the Future They Ate from the Finest Porcelain (2015).
