Imagening energy futures: integrating sufficiency and wellbeing

How can we design energy futures that balance sufficiency with wellbeing? While climate policy in Geneva and beyond has long focused on efficiency and renewable energy, sufficiency is emerging as a crucial third pillar. Yet it often raises questions: does sufficiency mean restrictions, or can it be reframed as a pathway to freedom, quality of life, and sustainability?

This workshop explores desirable futures of « sufficient living » and how they can inspire action today. Together, we will discuss existing examples, imagine new possibilities, and identify next steps to support policy, research, and practice in French-speaking Switzerland.
