The Brigitte Schnegg Prize was created in honor of Prof. Dr. Brigitte Schnegg, who directed the Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies (ICFG) at the University of Bern until her sudden death in spring 2014 and was Vice-President of SAGS from 2010 until her death. The prize is awarded every two years at the Members’ Assembly, for the first time in 2017.

2025 Award
The Brigitte Schnegg Prize 2025 has been awarded to Pamela Ohene Nyako for her outstanding doctoral thesis. The jury also awarded three honorable mentions. The laureates will be honored during the award ceremony on October 31, 2025, at 6:30 PM – at the University of Neuchâtel, Espace Tilo-Frey 1, Room R.S 38. The ceremony will also be streamed via Webex.
