Manazir Platform for Visual Arts and Architecture
The MANAZIR platform facilitates exchange and networking among researchers, museum professionals and cultural practitioners working on the visual arts, architecture and heritage of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
About Manazir
Manazir disseminates information about current conferences, workshops, publications and exhibitions. Research findings can also be published in the Manazir Journal, an online peer-reviewed journal that regularly publishes thematic issues in Open Access.
The platform is conceived as a non-hierarchical space that connects researchers, PhD students, artists, as well as museum and cultural professionals.
In Arabic, Turkish and Persian, Manazir refers to landscape, perspective and viewpoint. Accordingly, Manazir focuses on the diversity of transcultural and transdisciplinary landscapes and perspectives, and welcomes a wide range of themes, periods and geographical areas.
For those affiliated with a Swiss institution – such as a museum, archive or university – membership of Manazir is through the SGMOIK, with which Manazir is affiliated. Membership therefore includes both Manazir and the SGMOIK.
