CUSO Doctoral Program in English Language and Literature: 2012 Workshops

• The 2012 workshops of the CUSO Doctoral Program in English Language and Literature are open for registration here. Three of them are particularly relevant to American Studies scholars: "Aesthetics and Politics; Or, What’s Entitled to be Beautiful Today?" (Crêt-Bérard, Vaud, which took place on 22-23 March), "New Aesthetic Paradigms" (Seminarhotel Lindenhof, Brienz, BE, 7-9 September), and "PhD Day" (tbd, 8 December).

SANAS Awards

• SANAS members of all ranks are eligible for the SANAS Research Award (deadline: November 1). SANAS members may nominate applicants for  the SANAS Teaching Travel Award (new deadline: June 15).  See here for more information.

• The 2012 ASA Annual Meeting on “Dimensions of Empire and Resistance: Past, Present, and Future” (November 15-18, 2012) will take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico. See here for more information.
