Overview

The 8th conference of SAGS took place on September 8 and 9, 2025 at the University of Basel. The theme of the conference was knowledge production from a gender-theoretical and feminist perspective.We warmly thank the organizing team for this event, which offered the opportunity for many enriching and stimulating discussions.

Every two years, the SGGF organizes an international symposium on current topics in gender studies. This year’s conference will be held at the University of Basel. It invites contributions from the field of gender studies on the conference theme wissen – savoir – sapere – know(-ledges).

This theme is a starting point for promoting the exchange of ideas between gender researchers from different disciplines and research areas. The aim of the conference is to promote the gender research community and to network Swiss and international researchers. Participants at all career levels from academia and related disciplines are invited to address the conference theme as well as other issues and topics relevant to gender studies.
