Brigitte Schnegg Prize 2025
The Brigitte Schnegg Prize jury is honoured to announce that the 2025 prize is awarded toDr. Pamela Ohene-Nyako for her outstanding dissertation «Black European Women’s Intersectional Thought and Internationalism (1965–2001)», whose thematic contribution and socio-political relevance were highly praised!
Pamela Ohene-Nyako
Pamela Ohene-Nyako, PhD, is a historian of Black feminisms and internationalisms in Europe (20th Century). She authored several articles and chapters on these topics, and is the co-editor of the book Un/Doing Race : Racialisation en Suisse/ Rassifizierung in der Schweiz (Seismo, 2022). She is currently an SNSF postdoc.mobility fellow affiliated to the Laboratoire les Afriques dans le monde (LAM) at Sciences Po Bordeaux. There, she continues her work on Black women’s transnational activism with a special focus on African immigrant women’s mobilizations in Francophone Europe. In parallel to her academic work, Pamela is the founder of Afrolitt’, a bilingual literary and educational platform she runs since 2016.
