Mirando a América Latina desde el Museo: Nuevas Aproximaciones y Nuevas Prácticas
Edited by Alexander Brust and Sara Sanchez del Olmo
The issue we present here was conceived before the pandemic but has taken shape and come to fruition in the midst of it. The eight texts that make up this issue address highly topical issues, such as experiences of collaborative research and the co-curation of exhibitions carried out with indigenous peoples and local communities; the complex – and delicate – issue of the restitution of human remains and sensitive objects; the social and advocacy role of the museum, and the difficulty of representing and presenting traumatic memory in a museum context, particularly in situations of transitional justice and armed conflict.
