Call for Applicants to Graduate School in Economics (GAIN)

The Graduate Applications International Network (GAIN) has just launched its next round of applications and is looking for prospective applicants to graduate school in economics and related fields.

The Graduate Applications International Network (GAIN) supports prospective graduate students from all countries across Africa applying for excellent programs (both Master and PhD) in economics and closely related fields. African scholars are strongly under-represented in economics research globally. GAIN aims to strengthen the pipeline for African students in the economics profession through information sharing, mentoring, peer-to-peer support, and reduction of financial barriers.

The graduate program consists of two parts: a biweekly webinar series which introduces participants to the different elements of the graduate school admissions process and careers in research or policy, and the mentoring stage that participants may apply to after completing the webinar series. The mentoring stage pairs selected participants with experienced mentors who provide persnalized guidance through regular virtual one-on-one meetings throughout the graduate school application process. Participants also complete a GRE summer bootcamp and take the GRE.

The application deadline is 11 february 2026
