Regional Histories of South Asia in the Light of Archaelogical and Textual Sources
Ce colloque de recherche international rassemble des chercheurs qui étudient l'histoire de l'Asie du Sud ancienne et médiévale à travers des sources archéologiques et textuelles. L'accent sera mis sur deux grandes zones géographiques : les régions nord-ouest du sous-continent et le nord-est de la plaine du Gange. Deux points théoriques seront mis en évidence : la pertinence d'une focalisation régionale dans la recherche historique, et les problèmes qui se posent lorsqu'on cherche à harmoniser les données archéologiques avec le témoignage des inscriptions et des sources textuelles.
