CUSO-Literature and Altered States

We are pleased to announce the first CUSO English Doctoral School conference & workshop of 2011, which will take place at Crêt-Bérard near Lausanne on March 4th and 5th. The title of the workshop is: Literature and Altered States.
Three guest speakers will give talks and run workshops for doctoral students (see the attached program). There will also be presentations by junior and advanced scholars, and a reception Friday night after dinner.
Anyone is welcome to attend. Colleagues from CUSO universities do not need to pay for meals or lodging and will be reimbursed for travel. If you will be staying for a meal or would like to spend the night at Crêt-Bérard Friday March 4th, please let us know by February 6th.
Doctoral students are especially encouraged to attend and your meals, lodging and travel are paid for by CUSO
The workshops by Boon and by Hollywood will be open to doctoral students ONLY (the Luscher workshop will be open to all participants). These will involve reading a short text which will be circulated in February.
Please register for the workshops through the English Doctoral School website (http://english.cuso.ch/modules-2011)
and let us know by February 6th if you will be coming to:
1. the Friday lunch
2. the Friday dinner
3. overnight stay
4. the Saturday lunch
5. the Saturday dinner (in Lausanne, not paid for by CUSO)

The conference takes place at Crêt-Bérard, about 20 minutes outside of Lausanne by train (get off at the Puidoux-Chebres station). The train station is a 15 minute walk from the conference site so please tell us when you arrive so we can arrange a shuttle.
